Campaign Data Practices
The Zena Al‑Mudaris campaign is committed to protecting your privacy and handling your personal information responsibly. This page explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data.
Information We Collect
When you submit a form on this website (including join, volunteer, lawn sign request, contact, or updates signup forms), we collect:
- Your name, email address, phone number, and postal code
- Any message or information you provide in the form
- Your interests or the reason for contacting us (depending on the form)
- Technical metadata about your submission (see below)
Technical Metadata for Security
For security, abuse prevention, and legal compliance, we collect the following technical information with form submissions:
- IP Address: The internet address from which you submitted the form
- Browser User-Agent: Information about your web browser and operating system
- Referrer: The web page you came from before submitting the form
- Language Settings: Your browser’s language preferences
This technical information helps us identify and prevent abuse, investigate potential security incidents, and respond to legal requests when necessary. It is collected only for safety, security, abuse prevention, and potential law enforcement referral. It is not used for analytics, marketing, or profiling, and is not shared with third parties except as required by law.
HTTP Access Logs
Our website infrastructure collects standard HTTP access logs for all page visits through edge and ingress logging to durable storage. These logs contain:
- IP addresses
- User-Agent (browser and device information)
- Referer (the page you came from)
- Request path and method
- HTTP status codes
- Timestamp
These access logs serve the same purposes as form submission metadata: safety, security, abuse prevention, and potential law enforcement referral. They are not used for analytics, marketing, or profiling. Access logs are retained on a 30-day rolling basis and then automatically deleted. In specific cases involving abusive or threatening behavior under review, a legal hold may pause deletion of relevant log entries until the matter is resolved.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information you provide to:
- Respond to your inquiries and messages
- Coordinate campaign activities with volunteers
- Arrange lawn sign delivery and pickup
- Send campaign updates if you have subscribed
- Comply with applicable election laws and regulations
- Investigate and prevent abuse or security incidents
Data Storage and Security
Your information is stored securely in our campaign database with appropriate technical and organizational safeguards. Access is restricted to authorized campaign personnel only. We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties.
Data Retention
We retain form submission data, including technical metadata, until 90 days after the election date (October 26, 2026) unless otherwise required by law or campaign compliance obligations. After this period, data will be securely deleted or irreversibly anonymized.
HTTP access logs are retained on a 30-day rolling basis and then automatically deleted, except where a legal hold applies to specific entries under review.
Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of any inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements)
- Opt out of campaign communications at any time
