On September 30, Zena marked the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation by honouring residential school survivors and the children who never returned home. Every child matters.

September 30 is the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, also known as Orange Shirt Day. In her message for the day, Zena wrote:

“Today we take time to reflect, honor the survivors and children who never returned from residential schools, and commit to the ongoing journey of Truth and Reconciliation. We listen to Indigenous voices and stories, learn the truths of our past, and work together towards a better future.”

“For your resilience, strength, and courage. We are with you on this path.”
